Beverly Hills Living: Are You a Community and Lifestyle Expert?
by Dane Findley on August 30, 2010The proliferation of high-speed, wireless internet and digital devices has only increased the demand for digital content, and residents of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills — who love real estate so much that they even watch home and garden shows and look at listings online even when they are between transactions — are eager for digital content (photos, articles, podcasts, videos) that is useful, illuminating, relevant, informative, diverting, engaging, or just-plain-fun.
And if you doubt anything I just said: ask somebody.
Lifestyle. Is. Huge.
Angelenos enjoy hearing “inside information” on how to get the most “living” out of:
~ their homes
~ their neighborhoods
~ their lives.
And who knows this information better than almost anyone else? Real estate professionals, that’s who.
Real estate pros drive our neighborhoods everyday, see the homes inside-and-out, are privy to the latest restaurant openings, blow dry bars, hiking trails, cross-functional fitness studios, dog parks, organic raw food markets — you freakin’ name it, they know about it.
While real estate pros have always had the inside-skinny on what’s happening, what’s new, and what’s hot, they haven’t always been adept at presenting that information in user-friendly ways (the old stereotype of an agent is someone who is in it for the money and not for the value that they bring to others). Well, in the era of content-is-king, that is all beginning to change.
There are a few forward-thinking brokerages across the country that are providing their Associates with cutting-edge training in how to bring value to their communities in the form of scintillating content. And since almost everyone is online now, the content is increasingly digital.
For example, here are a few video excerpts from some of our own recent trainings. In this first, I challenge our talented Associates to make the daily sharing of information with our community a “new good habit.”
Here I encourage the team to provide our clients and friends with value even when they’re not looking to buy or sell a home:
Here we discuss how to convey entertaining info in the form of blogging, and what to do at the end of a blog:
An expression that continues to grow in popularity is, “content is king.” The idea behind the expression is that what everybody likes even more than a good idea, is: an excellently executed idea, fully presented. In other words, “content” is what’s created when an idea is made reality. The idea that content-is-king is especially true in Southern California, where we have a passion for the entertainment business and a propensity to dream big and live boldly.

In what information are you most interested, about the neighborhood in which you live? Let me know in the comments section below and we’ll probably be able to dispatch one of our Roving Reporters to research it and write about here on the Beverly Hills Real Estate Voice!
